I'll admit that this week would have been much easier however some things in my life came up and I had a harder time keeping on track, but at least having one raw meal a day. I really cannot discuss my symptoms of detox for a reason that I cannot tell quite yet. However I feel great and when you start feeling tired, grab a banana and you'll be back on track. My recipe for this week:
Stuffed Avocado's:
1 large ripe avocado's
1/2 roma tomato
1 tablespoon fresh cilantro
1 tblsp of fresh lemon
1 heaping tblsp of basil pesto
Cut avocado in half and remove pit, set aside
Mix all other ingredients and spoon onto avocado, enjoy!

Three days equals minus seven pounds!
Since the first day that I went all raw except for dinner, thru the third day in, I lost 7 pounds without even doing my yoga or any cardio! Imagine what you could loose when you eat 100% raw and do a healthy cardio and yoga routine everyday!

Week 2: Gonna do this!
Week 2 has been a little easier, I have my hubby coaching me. lol He is helping a lot! I stepped on the scale to see where I am at and so far I have lost 7 pounds! I am so excited about this! I still need to get a dehydrator so I can expand my recipes but so far I am doing good. I have been a little cranky that I can't have my usual toast or crackers for snack, but I have found alternatives that are good. I am getting ready to try stuffed avocado's from one of my favorite websites: Rawmazing.com Can't wait to tell you about how yummy it is! Oh I have definately been having detox symptoms, light headed, dizzyness, and in general just yucky, but thats ok I know it's good for my body to get rid of toxins! Well here is my recipe for the week:
Avocado wrap:
Lettuce
1/2 avocado
Basil pesto
1/2 small roma tomato
Thin slices of onion
Spread all ingredients onto the lettuce and wrap up, enjoy :) I usually eat 2!

Breakfast:
Sometimes I think that we need to eat each bite knowing the nutrients that we are putting in our body are the best we can give it. Most people mindlessly eat. The transition to raw foods is hard in a lot of ways, but the hardest part is getting used to the flavor. We have all been eating cooked foods for so long we no longer have the right taste buds for the real food! It might be gross or we might try to stay clear of things we "don't" like, but really it's just adjusting to the taste of nature! So lets give it a try and as you eat your raw meal today to be concious of each bite we take, and realize the good in it, and to be sure we chew it up enough as well, chewing is the part that brings out all the nutrients. Thats why we love raw smoothies, it does the chewing for us to give our mandables a little break until we are used to chewing our food up better. As it can be slightly painful!
Breakfast today: Smoothie
1/2 banana
small hanful of blueberries
4 frozen strawberries
1/4 cup of orange juice
a few slices of pinapple
and a small handful of fresh spinach
It was delicious, and nutritious.

Week 1: Realizing
My first week went pretty well. I managed to keep 1 meal per day raw. But I have to say that I have been gorging myself at dinner with cooked foods, and then feeling sick, and even craving cooked food more. This is terrible, it goes completely against what I am trying to do. I am starting to wonder if it is just easier to go all raw instead of easing into it.. But I am going to keep on my path and be strong. Definately when I do yoga, I do much better at eating better. I think when you excersice too it will make you want to eat better foods...
Well until next week, here is my recipe for the week:
Electric Green smoothie: Perfect for breakfast and popciles,
Ingredients:
2 ripe bananas
1 medium pineapple
2-3 cups spinach or other leafy green
Water
Blend until smooth and pour into molds.

Slow process
This going raw thing will be a slow process, I have no intention to throw myself into it all cold turkey. I think that the detoxing will be easier on my body if I ease into it, thus feeling better as I go. I did however notice that I was doing great yesterday before I ate cooked food. And after dinner I felt way to full, heavy per say, sleepy with a tummy ache... If that says anything at all I think my body is speaking to me. Just remember, you are what you eat!

Day 1: No expectations.
First I'd like to say that I do not expect anyone in my family to follow me. If they so wish, then I will embrace it. But for now, It's just me.
Breakfast: Fruit smoothie, containing:
Mandarin oranges
Strawberries
Kiwi
Banana
Snack:
Pickled artichoke
For lunch I plan on having a big salad full of tomatoes, carrots, nuts, onion, hemp seeds, and avacado orage dressing. And 1 banana.
Snack: lara bar (100% raw)
We aren't dicussing dinner, as I have no idea what we are having and it probably won't be 100% raw.
Not a bad start, after my morning snack, I indulged in 1/2 hour of yoga and so far I feel good, a little hungrier than normal at this time but doing well :)
